Soila is a beautiful Maasai girl. She is 7 years old and she has been under ADDHU’s care since January 2008. She is an orphan and was rescued from the streets of the Kware slum in Nairobi. Recently, Soila was diagnosed with the Perthes Disease, a degenerative disease that affects the articulations of the hips.

It is a rare disease that usually affects children between 3 and 12 years, and can be quite serious if not properly leading, leading to severe movement impairment of the legs and even paralysis.Soila was admitted at the Gertrude Children’s Hospital in Muthaiga, Nairobi, where she was submitted to several exams and tests to establish a proper diagnosis and to determine the necessary treatments.Soila was in the hospital for 2 weeks and the treatment she received cost ADDHU more than 100 Euros per day, making a total of 1500 Euros. We had to make a considerable effort to financially support Soila’s treatment, but we would never leave a child in the risk of being permanently handicapped or in pain for the rest of her life.Soila is now back home and going to school again. We are expecting a complete and full recovery, but Soila may need further treatment in the future. With your help and support, we can, and we will take always care of Soila so she can have a normal and healthy development and grow up to see all her dreams come true!Click here to make a donation now!Thank you!
